SharePoint App Add-ins – A Brave New World
Microsoft announced the removal of code-based sandbox solutions on SharePoint as part of the phased approach which was first outlined in 2014 when they deprecated the feature. This was recently published on their blogs and also published by Microsoft to the Message center of each individual Office 365 tenant for admins to take necessary action for the same.

Under these circumstances, the way forward is to transform your code-based sandbox solutions to the SharePoint add-in model or client side model. It involves analyzing existing solutions, designing and developing your new add-in(s) for SharePoint, and then testing and deploying your add-in in your production environment.
To understand the details of what is code-based sandbox solution, what are the possible options and so on, refer to the following article by Microsoft.

It is recommended that customers and partners transition their solutions to the add-in model or pure client-side development, which provides highly-scalable, cloud-first approaches to extending SharePoint. Many customers have transitioned full-trust and sandboxed solutions to the add-in model, and their success and experiences are reflected in the samples and guidance of the Microsoft Patterns and Practices initiative.
